What To Expect After Applying

After completing the application for your Medicare Part B you should expect to receive the Notice of Award letter from the Social Security Administration in approximately two to three weeks.

The Notice of Award letter will confirm your enrollment into Medicare Part B and will provide you with the expected Medicare Part B effective date. The effective date will always begin on the 1st of the month.

More than likely this notice will not include your Medicare number, but usually your Medicare card will be mailed to you within two weeks after the Notice of Award letter arrives. This is why it is so important to give yourself enough time, prior to the month of your 65th birthday, to apply for your Part B!
