Apply For Part B

As you now know, Part B has a cost. And the cost you pay for your Part B premium is dependent upon your income. If you would like to review the income levels to get an idea of the cost of Part B for you, you can review the Medicare Premiums: Rules For Higher-Income Beneficiaries.

You should apply as soon as possible to ensure that your Medicare begins on the first of the month in which you turn age 65. You can apply for your Part B as early as three months prior to the month of your 65th birthday. You also can apply the month of your 65th birthday and three months thereafter.
